Biography

Mike Cobb founded UK-based Cobweb Applications Ltd to deliver network security solutions and data-based Web systems, a provider of incident management and security advice, assessments, products, and training. Clients include the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, London Business School, Securicor, Elf Aquitaine, ELMO Semiconductors, Limburgs Universitair Belgium, The Observer, The UK Post Office, Blair Consular Services, Bohler and Associates brokerage, and the Associated Examining Board.

Cobweb's security software for Microsoft Windows includes the HideThat screen saver and KeyRing, the first file encryption program using 248 bit keys to be freely available in the UK. Cobweb is also a Rainbow Technologies Solutions Partner, selling authentication solutions based on the iKey cryptographic USB token and secure web server upgrades based on CryptoSwift encryption accelerators.

A Contributing Editor for Advisor Publications, Mike writes a Security Questions and Answers column for Internet Security Advisor Magazine as well as reviews of security products. He also writes articles for e-Business Advisor Magazine and speaks at IT and security conferences. Mike recently co-authored a McGraw-Hill book on IIS Security.

Mike has also been a key staff member of Miora Systems Consulting (later renamed to InfoSec Labs) and ePrivacy Group.
